United Way Tells UPS Employees “Thanks A Billion!”

UPS has given $1 billion to United Way since 1982. And United Way is kicking off the celebration with a special gift.

Last week UPS hit the amazing milestone of contributing $1 billion to United Way and is the first company to reach this level of giving. To say thank you, United Way is launching a “Thank a Driver” campaign this week.

United Way kicked off the celebration by running an advertisement in the current issue of Fortune magazine, in a special section.   In addition, they have launched a website where UPS fans can go to sign a group e-card, Tweet and Facebook about how UPS works in their communities.

We are so very proud of all that our employees have done to make positive contributions in the areas we live and work. So, to continue the celebration, the UPS No. 6 Ford Fusion driven by David Ragan will feature a United Way paint scheme with a “Thank you UPSers” message on the back panel during the Oct. 16 NASCAR Bank of America 500. In addition, one employee from each UPS District will be selected to attend the race. The employees will be identified from those who volunteer in their local communities.

Past and present UPS employees take pride in the positive impact felt by thousands of people in our communities by not only the financial contributions, but also by our time and skill.

Check out the United Way website and see the comments people across the country are sharing about UPS!

  1. I go to the UPS store in West Palm Beach (Village Boulevard #0467). They are very professional and always ready to help you. If you go there, ask for Nida. She is the best.
