UPS Executive Eduardo Martinez Speaks About Volunteerism in Local Communities: Preparing for National Volunteer Week
Category: Caring for Communities
Tags: , ,

UPS employees across the US join many across the country in preparing for National Volunteer Week, April 10-16, 2011. Working in local communities is a way that many employees give back.  UPS employees, families and friends donated more than 1.2 million volunteer hours to communities internationally in 2010.

UPS joined volunteer organizations from around the world at the 21st IAVE World Volunteer Conference that took place in Singapore on January 24 – 27, 2011.  The conference theme was ‘Volunteering to Change the World’ and the goal was to share the impact of volunteers over the last year and to assess what’s needed to move forward. IAVE hopes that through the conference, volunteer capital is truly recognized by governments, by businesses and by the not-for-profit sector itself for what it has to offer as an equal partner in building communities in a sustained manner.

UPS Foundation’s Director of Philanthropy and Corporate Relations Eduardo Martinez spoke at the conference about our commitment to volunteerism and the people that make it happen….
