Trekking Beyond Borders

During a recent stop at the customs counter in the new international wing of Atlanta’s Hartsfield Jackson International Airport, an agent inspected my passport and said, “Looks like you have your entire life story in here.” A spot-on observation that is true in more ways than one.

My trek to go global began over a decade ago with a month-long journey to attend a global leadership conference in Pune, India. This was just the beginning of my quest, but it opened my eyes to opportunities beyond borders – both personal and business.

Since India, I’ve found myself trekking across the globe time and again, exploring business opportunity in China, development in Africa, Olympic spirit in London, beautiful beaches and eco-friendly solutions in Brazil, and much more.

I was surprised to find that UPS is a world traveler, too. Each day, UPS packs its bags and heads to more than 220 countries and territories. Often, I meet business owners who are ready to pack their bags and begin their own trek – one to explore the global marketplace. They want to expand to new countries and find new markets for their products. Most ask: “Where do I begin?”

For me, the best thing to take on a global journey is a friend and a good guide. Join me as we explore the global marketplace together. I’ll be your guide as we explore topics like: where to start, how to take your export strategy to the next level, and how others have been successful.

Are you ready for the journey? Pack your bags and let’s go!

Let me know what topics you would like us to cover in this series. Post your question here and we will address it on upside.
