Eliminate the Hassle of Back-to-School Shopping with School Tool Box
school supplies

Back-to-school signage line the halls and walls of retail stores, reminding children that summer is almost over and parents that they need to fill the supply lists provided by their kids’ schools. Finding everything can be a hassle – long lines, multiple shopping trips, hard-to-find products, etc.

UPS Small Business customer School Tool Box offers a convenient, consistent, cost-saving alternative that provides parents with the supplies they need without the aggravations. For more than 10 years, School Tool Box has been delivering pre-packaged school supply kits built from teachers’ lists directly to their respective schools. In 2011, the company kicked off its “Ship-to-Home” program, making it even easier for families to get the supplies they need by delivering it right to their front doors.

Helmets for Kids: Getting Children to School Safely
helmets for kids

When I rode my bicycle to school in the seventh grade, I pretended I was my hero at the time – the great Arthur Fonzarelli. As evidenced by my low-end Huffy (and lack of a leather jacket and girlfriends), I was nowhere near as cool as “The Fonz.” Or my classmates who drove a Mongoose or Schwinn.

Crazy, right?

The UPS Foundation and NYLC: Using Community Service to Improve Education
NYLC

What if school districts believed that students could use what they’re learning in the classroom to solve real-world problems? And they made space for students and teachers to do that?

That’s the question that underlies the National Youth Leadership Council’s (NYLC) partnership with the UPS Foundation and three pilot districts across the United States. At NYLC, we work to mobilize young people in service to their communities and schools – not just as an after-school volunteer activity, but as a strategic, engaging part of their classroom experience. This process is called service-learning, and it can have powerful effects on learning, social development, and civic involvement throughout adulthood.

Do the Right Thing, Start a No-Idling Campaign

Like a lot of parents, I worry about keeping my child safe and making sure she eats enough vegetables. But I hadn’t really thought about air pollution until last February. That’s when The UPS Foundation announced a grant to help take the Clean Air Campaign’s No-Idling initiative nationwide.
