UPS My Choice Facebook App Creating More Choices for Consumers
UPS facebook app

At UPS we’re doing more than just delivering packages – we’re providing solutions to our customers. As more consumers shop online for the convenience, UPS My Choice® is the answer to flexible home delivery.

From the recent UPS Pulse of the Online Shopper retail study, we learned more online shoppers are using social media to shop for deals. Not surprisingly 84% of online shoppers use at least one social media site with Facebook being the most popular. There are more than a billion Facebook users out there so we’ve made it even easier to sign up for the service that gives consumers the ability to decide when and where their packages will arrive.

With the new UPS My Choice Facebook app,  consumers can sign up for the service and track a package directly from their Facebook page. Current members can also log into their UPS My Choice account using their Facebook log-in so they don’t have to remember multiple user names and passwords.

Two years ago, I was one of those people that only ordered online occasionally and when I did, it was only for those hard-to-find items. Now there is very little I won’t order online. College Athletics: It’s All About the Tickets (Video)

I’ve had a front row seat as the Athletic Ticket Manager at Appalachian State University for seven years. When I started, we sent out 5,000 season tickets. That’s doubled to 10,000 season tickets which are distributed to more than 2,500 fans. That’s a lot of tickets needing the right shipping logistics to get to our fans.

Order in the next 15 minutes and we’ll send you . . .

Well, nothing, really. As a chronic and long-time insomniac, I’ve seen a lot of late night infomercials, and thought I’d try their approach with our latest and greatest product. (At this point, pretend that I’m TALKING REALLY LOUD and gesturing wildly at you to get the full effect.)

Introducing the incredible ups.com iGoogle™ gadget!

Small Business Makes Big Mascots

Growing up in the South, I have been ingrained with the idea that football is king and that next to a loved one’s birthdays and holidays (not by much though) the kickoff to football season is to be circled on calendars- not to be missed.

Recognizing the importance and reach of football, UPS recently announced a significant expansion to its college sponsorship program.  UPS is teaming with IMG College, the Pac-12 and the Big Ten conferences to reach college sports fans in top markets across the country.  The significant multi-year agreement provides UPS a national footprint with local reach through sponsorship opportunities with 68 IMG university partners across the country.

Along with outstanding athletic traditions, these schools all have a mascot.  Who doesn’t love a cute and cuddly mascot to hug and get a picture with on game day?  Did you ever wonder who makes these game day staples?

New UPS.com Features: Tracking Made Easy For Everyone

UPS trackingI’ve been working on ups.com for several years now and have witnessed the site grow to receive on average more than 22 million tracking requests every day, peaking to 40 million on our busiest day!

My job allows me to add new site features, update older site functions and occasionally redesign the entire site. However, many of those updates only apply to a certain segment of UPS customers. Once in a while, we do get to unveil something that everyone who visits ups.com can appreciate, as is the case today.
