I’ve had a front row seat as the Athletic Ticket Manager at Appalachian State University for seven years. When I started, we sent out 5,000 season tickets. Last month, we introduced an innovative service called UPS My Choice^SM. For online shoppers, it offers a new level of control and flexibility for shipments delivered to residential addresses, such as the option to reschedule a delivery when you’re not home or redirect a delivery to another address or your local The UPS Store.

Growing up in the South, I have been ingrained with the idea that football is king and that next to a loved one’s birthdays and holidays (not by much though) the kickoff to football season is to be circled on calendars- not to be missed. 

Recognizing the importance and reach of football, UPS recently announced a significant expansion to its college sponsorship program.  UPS is teaming with IMG College, the Pac-12 and the Big Ten conferences to reach college sports fans in top markets across the country.  The significant multi-year agreement provides UPS a national footprint with local reach through sponsorship opportunities with 68 IMG university partners across the country.

I’ve been working on ups.com for several years now and have witnessed the site grow to receive on average more than 22 million tracking requests every day, peaking to 40 million on our busiest day!

My job allows me to add new site features, update older site functions and occasionally redesign the entire site. However, many of those updates only apply to a certain segment of UPS customers. Once in a while, we do get to unveil something that everyone who visits ups.com can appreciate, as is the case today.
